After 12 months of hard work, we have finally launched our beta service! Dig N Swap is an innovative service that makes it possible for users to trade fashionable clothes and accessories with interested users. Dig N Swap uses an ebay-like auction system where bids are submitted and the best selected and thus items are traded. Items may not be sold on Dig N Swap, this was key to us in order to keep the sense of community and joint interest in having quality items listed.
so why use Dig N Swap? us two founders had to main reasons for engaging with this startup:
- the environment: as you can see from the following video (www.storyofstuff.com, developed outside of our influence and actually in parallel with our idea), recycling is definitely a great start to help the environment, however, it is only recycling a small fraction of the resources that go into creating the item in the first place. with Dig N Swap, we believe we are fully repurposing the items, and espcially with high-end clothes and accessories which are resource intensive; so in short, Dig N Swap supports everyone's quest to reduce their resource footprint and thus saving our planet from an inevitable strain on resources.
- Fashion: given how many different designers are out there! how many products are being developed, sold, and unfortunately not fully utilized, it is easy to see the need for Dig N Swap! we allow you to go shopping for new beautiful items using things that you may no longer love but who will surely lighten someone else's day! remember though, we are only trading high-end items, we are not interested in things no one wants, we are looking for things that you do not want but are in excellent condition and still in fashion. It is also great to know that you can get a fashionable jacket, purse, sunglasses, or anything you like without having to spend a penny (well, DnS is free for now, we will have a small free per transaction later).
Well, thats the introduction, we will be discussing the challenges we face as we move forward, feel free to comment on the entries and send us your feedback at feedback@dignswap.com
Cheers! |
